In comparison the build quality of the RangeGuards is quite an improvement over their older cousin. The higher quality textured plastic feels thicker and more durable. For the price, the Rangeguards also have the capability to accept a 3.5 milimeter jack allowing you to play music through them quietly while you shoot and still clearly hear range commands. As far as comfortability I place them one step above the 6s because of the quality of the headstrap. The earpads are similar to the 6s model, however I prefer the new battery door. You dont feel like you are breaking the set everytime you need to change the batteries. The recessed microphones do definately help with the durability factor as well as reduce wind noise. I tend to tuck my cheek in quite far while shooting and not once have these muffs gotten in my way.
